K.I.D.S. participates actively in leading industry trade shows to promote its mission and activities, enlist new product donors and acknowledge the contributions of companies and leadership of individuals.
The collection of display merchandise from exhibitors at the conclusion of trade shows is an important and ongoing K.I.D.S. activity. Exhibitors avoid having to pack and ship goods while K.I.D.S. procures hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of product annually for social service agencies in show cities.
ABC Kids Expo
The ABC Kids Expo, held annually in Las Vegas, has become the sole trade show for the juvenile industry and has grown significantly in this capacity. In 2007, $400,000 worth of product collected by K.I.D.S. from show exhibitors was distributed to needy children in the area.
MAGIC Marketplace
In February and August, the fashion industry gathers in Las Vegas at the MAGIC Marketplace, the leading show for buyers and sellers of men's, women's and children's apparel and accessories. MAGIC International generously donates booth space and promotional support to help K.I.D.S. and Fashion Delivers secure merchandise donations. During the Hurricane Katrina relief effort, show organizers helped generate more than $3 million worth of product for distribution
Toy Fair American International Toy Fair is the largest toy trade show in the Western Hemisphere. In cooperation with the Toy Industry Foundation and with the help of some 70 volunteers, K.I.D.S. collected over $400,000 worth of toys and educational games at the February 2008 show. The products were distributed to the families of our armed forces through Operation HomeFront, which provides services on military bases around the country.
