Displaying the K.I.D.S. “Proud Donor” Button

Many of our donors have requested a way to show their support for us and to help raise awareness of our work. The Proud Donor button is offered to the in-kind and cash donors of Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.) for placement on a Web site or other digital communications. It can be a convenient way for the donor to show good corporate citizenship and the desire to help children and families in need. Among global consumers, 67% would switch brands for one of similar quality that supports a good cause (Edelman 2009 goodpurpose™ survey).

Wherever the button is placed on a Web site or other digital communication, it should be linked to our homepage http://www.kidsdonations.org. Please use the code found on the bottom of this page.

Button Placement

The ideal placement for the button is on the donor’s Web site homepage, following the style guidelines established for the Web site by the donor. Often this placement occurs at the bottom or top of the homepage, or in some other area of the page featuring partnerships.

If the donor prefers to place the button elsewhere, another logical area would be on any page of the Web site that discusses the company’s corporate profile, usually the About Us section. If the donor’s Web site has a page discussing Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Relationships or company Philanthropy or Charities, it may be appropriate to include the button there.

If the donor would like to include copy that describes K.I.D.S. on the Web site as well, the following paragraph can be used:

K.I.D.S. brings hope and self-esteem to more than 4.5 million children and their families each year by providing new clothes, shoes, toys, furniture, books and juvenile products donated by manufacturers and retailers. The donations are distributed through a network of over 1,000 local community social service agencies in the U.S. and abroad. Our efforts reach children who are challenged by poverty, homelessness, domestic abuse, low literacy, military family service, major illness, incarcerated family members and disaster survival.

The Proud Donor button with a hyperlink can also be used in other digital communications such as emails, social media pages (i.e. Facebook) and online promotional offers.
